code of conduct
Short version: be the kind of person other builders want in the room.
- 01 Be generous. Everyone here is past the basics, but nobody knows everything — teach what you know and admit what you don’t.
- 02 No recruiting pitches or selling from the front of the room. Side conversations after the session are fair game.
- 03 Demos are allowed to fail. The rough version is welcome. We don’t punish unpolished.
- 04 Credit your sources: the model, the repo, the person whose idea you built on.
- 05 What’s shown in the room stays in the room unless the builder says otherwise.
- 06 Harassment of any kind ends your invite. No second warning.
Our pledge
We’re committed to a welcoming, harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of experience level, background, or identity. That applies in the room, on the call, and in any side channels connected to this group.
Our standards
- Sharing what you’re actually building, including the parts that didn’t work
- Giving specific, constructive feedback
- Crediting collaborators, tools, and sources
- Asking questions at any level without apology
- Being direct without being dismissive
- Harassment of any kind, public or private
- Unwelcome sexual attention or advances
- NSFW, sexual, harmful, or illegal content in demos, slides, or screens shared with the room
- Deliberate intimidation, trolling, or personal attacks
- Recording or streaming others without their consent
Skill levels & backgrounds
“Past the basics” describes intent to build, not credentials. We don’t gatekeep by job title, years of experience, or which tools you use. If you’re making things, you belong here.
Photography & recording
Get explicit consent before photographing, recording, or streaming any attendee or their screen. If someone opts out, honor it immediately, no questions asked.
Reporting & enforcement
Something off? Contact an organizer at taylor@finklea.dev — confidential, no drama.
Reports are handled confidentially. Organizers may warn, remove someone from the session, or ban them from future events. We’ll handle it directly and without drama.
